Affinity Research Teams

WHIRC organizes its research through Affinity Research Teams: groups of affiliated faculty, staff, and trainees who share an interest in one of our four core research areas. Faculty opt in to one or more teams, and each team shapes its own research agenda, collaborations, and funding proposals.

Gendered Stress & Mental Health

The health impact of gendered racism and intersectional stressors on women’s wellbeing.

Cardiovascular & Cellular Health

Sex differences in vascular biology and cardiovascular disease mechanisms.

AI for Women’s Health

Addressing bias in health AI caused by the underrepresentation of women in training data, and building equitable machine-learning tools for women’s health.
