What We Do

WHIRC aims to foster interdisciplinary research, educate future leaders, and inform policy and practice through three interconnected pillars:

Advancing Translational Research

We support and connect research on health conditions that uniquely or disproportionately affect women — from maternal and reproductive health to cardiovascular disease and the role of AI in closing (rather than widening) data gaps in women’s health.

Developing a Diverse Workforce Pipeline

We train the next generation of women’s health researchers through interdisciplinary mentorship, graduate assistantships, seed opportunities, and curricular innovation that spans public health, education, and engineering.

Building Community Partnerships

We establish partnerships with community organizations, clinicians, and policymakers to disseminate research findings beyond academia — ensuring that discoveries translate into practice and policy that improve women’s lives.
